2021 Residential & Business Surveys

At the City of Burnsville, we are committed to the quality of life for our entire community. We really want to know what we’re doing well and where we need to improve. We recently launched our 2021 Resident and Business Surveys, and we’d love to hear from you because You Belong Here! Your responses will help shape policies and priorities for Burnsville now and in the future.

A random selection of Burnsville residents and businesses will receive (or have received) a paper survey in the mail in mid-to-late March. If you received one by mail, you can complete the survey and return it in its postage-paid envelope or you can complete it online (see the appropriate links below).

*We ask that those who received a mailed survey but are completing it online to please type in the STUDY ID number shown at the top of your paper survey. The STUDY ID number helps us send reminders to ensure we hear from you.

If you do not receive a paper survey we’d like to invite you to complete the survey online:

  • Residential Survey Link(for those who live in Burnsville):
    1. Use the STUDY ID “Burnsville” if you did not receive a survey in the mail
    2. Use the STUDY ID "Service" if you serve in a Burnsville service organization such as the Lions Club or Rotary International.
    3. If you did receive a mailed survey, use the STUDY ID number shown at the top of the paper survey
  • Business Survey Link(for those who own/manage a business in Burnsville):
    1. Use the STUDY ID “Burnsville” if you did not receive a survey in the mail
    2. Use the STUDY ID “Chamber” if you are a member of the Burnsville Chamber of Commerce
    3. Use the STUDY ID “Housing” if you own/manage a multi-housing building
    4. If you did receive a mailed survey, use the STUDY ID number shown at the top of the paper survey

You may be wondering why this survey asks for demographic information. You Belong Here and we care about your opinions. It is important to us that everyone is represented and has a voice in shaping our community. The City is working with Cobalt Community Research on this evaluation to receive outside analysis and to ensure your responses are strictly confidential. Your name will not be shared with the City without your permission. Cobalt will share general demographic information to help us service needs across the entire community and continue to ensure that Burnsville is a vibrant city, boldly leading and welcoming to all.

Cobalt is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to help governmental and non-profit organizations measure, benchmark and manage their efforts through high-quality, affordable research.

If you have any questions or concerns about the survey, please contact Lori Ernste at (952) 895-4400.
