The City of Burnsville does not license businesses. The State requires licenses for certain types of businesses, such as food prep and sale, medical, chiropractic, etc.
Incentives may be available if there is an above typical development cost to construct a building. There are not City incentives available if the business is leasing space. Yes, through the "Open to Business" program entrepreneurs can ask about strategic planning, business loans, marketing or other business-related questions. This program provides a consultant, at no cost, that meets one-on-one with residents to assist in local business growth.
