Certain cannabis businesses are prohibited, conditional or permitted. To determine this, compare the location’s zoning using the zoning map and comparing it to the cannabis table found in the City Code (10-7-53-5).

General Information

  • Hemp or cannabis businesses are required to register with the City of Burnsville if they are a cannabis retailer, microbusiness, mezzo business, medical cannabis combination business or lower-potency hemp edible retailer.
  • Burnsville does not have caps or buffers on cannabis businesses.
  • Because there is no cap in place, please complete state licensure and coordinate with our Planning Department before applying for registering with the City of Burnsville.
