Boulevard Tree Permit

Issued To

Residents who want do any work with a boulevard tree (any tree that grows within the boulevard right-of-way). Work includes activities such as:

  • Tree planting
  • Spraying with pesticide or other chemical treatment
  • Fertilization treatment
  • Branch pruning
  • Tree removal

Renewal 

A new application is required for each project

Additional Requirements 

  • In most cases, a site inspection will be needed to make sure that the proposed work is appropriate for the tree and/or the location. 
  • If a chemical treatment is proposed, the product and application method will be reviewed for personal and environmental safety. Boulevard trees may not be treated by soil drenching -- only soil injection or trunk injection is allowed.

There is no fee for a Boulevard Tree Permit

Purpose

A boulevard tree is any tree that grows with the boulevard right-of-way and are considered property of the City. In a residential area, the boulevard right-of-way varies throughout the City. The right-of-way is determined by specific measurement and location of underground utility lines, like electric and cable.
