8. How do I get a zoning compliance letter for a specific property?

Submit a request for a zoning letter to the City of Burnsville. The fee is $71 per the City of Burnsville Fee Schedule. 

Requests for a zoning letter may be submitted online through our Citizen Services portal.

Payment is required prior to release of the letter. Depending on complexity of the request, it can take up to 15 days to complete a Zoning letter, but most often it’s completed within 7-10 days. You’re able to request for multiple, related/contiguous parcels on the same letter/fee (for example, an apartment complex).

Planning Commission meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Burnsville City Council Chambers.

12. How do I file a housing discrimination complaint?

Housing discrimination complaints are handled through the Minnesota Department of Human Rights and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The City of Burnsville does not take or investigate housing discrimination complaints.
