Economic Development Commission
The Burnsville City Council is seeking residents interested in serving on the Economic Development Commission, an advisory body on economic development and business development. This is an Alternate member position appointed by the City Council and are responsible for researching, reviewing and making recommendations on issues.
This is a three-year term expiring June 30, 2024 with the opportunity to apply for re-appointment. The position is open to Burnsville residents ages 18 and older. Membership will also be considered for non-residents who own a business or property in Burnsville.
Parks and Natural Resources Commission
The Burnsville City Council is seeking applications from juniors and sophomores who are interested in membership on the Parks and Natural Resources Commission. This commission is charged with the responsibility of researching, reviewing, and making recommendations on related issues and serves as advisory bodies to the City Council.
PARKS AND NATURAL RESOURCES COMMISSION (PNRC): Serves as an advisory body which makes recommendations on issues related to park, recreation, and open space needs of the community and protection of natural resources. Youth members are expected to attend all meetings (first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m.) and are full voting members of the commission.
Openings: Two regular youth members (juniors/sophomores)
All youth member terms expire on June 30 of each year with the opportunity to apply for reappointment. Any Burnsville resident who is a high school junior or sophomore in the coming year may apply for membership.
Application deadline for both commissions is Friday, Sept. 3 by 4:30 p.m.
