2020 Firefighter/Paramedic of the Year

Jared Haider

The Burnsville Fire Department is proud to announce Burnsville Firefighter/Paramedic Jared Haider as Burnsville’s 2020 Firefighter of the Year.

Haider has been a member of the Burnsville Fire Department for four years, and his fellow firefighters know him as someone who exemplifies many quality traits that are needed to be a great firefighter and paramedic. He is well respected and is known for hard work ethic and willingness to help others.

“Jared has logged many hours in the public education and has put together videos that the department can be proud of for years to come,” said one of Haider’s crew members.

Selfless is one of the first words they use to describe him. He steps up to assist the shift with any task and brings training to the table that benefits everyone. When it comes to emergency calls, he is fast and efficient, and always acts in the best interest of the patient in any circumstance.

“Jared is a top performing firefighter/paramedic,” said Burnsville Fire Chief BJ Jungmann. “Beyond his firefighter/paramedic duties Jared is passionate about the health and wellness of not only the community but his fellow firefighters. Jared leads our peer support team who provides emotional support for the members of the department. Jared is always caring and compassionate, being there for everyone no matter what they have going on.”

Burnsville’s 48-member career fire and ambulance service is committed and dedicated to preserving life, safety and property in the community. Haider regularly demonstrates these values and the Burnsville Fire Department is proud to honor him as Firefighter/Paramedic of the Year.
